Hello. It's been a long time

Hello. It's been a long time since I've posted anything. The last few years I've been through a lot. I ended a long term relationship I had been in and had to move out, lost my job, started a new job, had major car issues, fought off Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, lost my job again and relocated to a new state. I'm going to try and be on more often.

So just to catch you up on what I've been doing recently. I've watched a ton of video's and have gotten a better understanding of the software I'm using. I switched from Family Tree Maker to Legacy Family Tree. After watching some of the webinars at FamilyTreeWebinars.com I found this to be a great database management tool and the webinars were very informative and helped to make the task of learning to use the software efficiently.

I also decided to do a genealogical re-boot. I have learned a lot over the last 5 years and it would be worthwhile to review the findings and verify that there isn't any missed information.  This has also led me to the relaunch of my Blog. The bulk of my blog will be a documentation of the journey of Discovery that I am on. I also plan on offering reviews from time to time of books and webinars that I have read or attended.  This means that you may see the same types of documents and websites over and over but I hope it won't be super repetitive as I plan on this being more of a step by step workflow example. Most of the stuff I have come across so far has been a very general walk through.   Geoff Rasmussen does a series of webinars where he works on a document live and it's this series that my blog is modeled after.  In my blog, I hope to address some of the issues that I wished Geoff would address in his series. No slight against Geoff as he is doing a lot in a 45-90 minute video. I hope to be able to provide more depth in a weekly blog.

Oh and a very special thanks to these people for their indirect help in shaping me and my blog. DearMyrtle, Cousin Russ and Thomas MacEntee. Each of these people I have found to be very helpful, and their blogs and vlogs are well worth checking out. So just follow the links and may you find something helpful. Thank you again for stopping by! Please make sure to come back by next week as I begin to document my Journey.
